Your gift helps The Pines far into the future.
“Giving to The Pines is like helping family and friends. The Resident Support Fund is assisting some whose funds have dwindled. Special donations provide medical appliances, transportation vehicles and recreational equipment.”
A Resident of The Pines
For more than 35 years, thoughtful contributors have supported The Pines at Davidson, enabling the community to enhance its care and services for residents. This caring spirit of generosity touches and inspires all who live and work here.
Donations can be made to charitable programs at The Pines that include:
- The Resident Support Fund, which provides assistance to residents who have outlived their savings. In 2023, seven individuals were supported by this Fund, which helps to assure that The Pines remains their home. Gifts can be made in honor or memory of a loved one.
- The Chaplaincy Fund supports The Pines’ Chaplain, who provides spiritual support and ecumenical programming for residents, especially those living in the Schramm Health Center. Working alongside The Pines social workers, as well as nursing, medical and recreational therapy staff, the chaplain respects and responds to residents’ values and beliefs, encouraging a holistic, individualized approach to a resident’s care. The Chaplaincy Fund seeks to increase the Chaplain’s time at The Pines from the current 32 hours to 40 hours. Gifts at every level are welcomed.
- The Career Development Scholarship Fund provides grants to team members seeking to advance in their careers at The Pines. Each semester (if funds are available), The Pines will award up to 5 scholarships (each totaling up to $3,000) per team member.
- The Health Care Fund enables the Nursing Department to purchase wish list equipment that will help Schramm Health Center residents and lift the spirits of the nursing team.
- The Entry Assistance Fund supports applicants from the community who led a life of service and do not meet the minimum financial requirements for admission to The Pines.
- Led by a Residents’ Association, the annual Employees Appreciation Fund appeal provides a year-end gift to more than 300 hourly Pines team members.
- The Transportation Fund helps The Pines purchase vehicles, including buses and medical vans, that support the needs of residents.
- The Landscaping Fund adds trees, gardens, fountains, benches and other enhancements to The Pines’ grounds.
- The Annual/Unrestricted Fund supports the general operating expenses of The Pines, helping it meet unanticipated demands on the budget.
